Music Box

When you asked me
What present I wanted
I answered plainly
A special music box
I've always been searching for
When I was down and alone
To soothe an old sore
That lingers in my heart.
Every music box I found
Did not appeal to me
Whatever shape or sound
Except the one in my youth.
Guess I was unconsciously longing
For those carefree days
Expecting the box through playing
Would bring back some of that happiness.
