One evening I held a dinner party
Inviting all my friends to my home,
I served a most delicious meal.
But then Sadness became roaring drunk
And spilled wine on Happiness
Which made the darling cry--
Her dress was ruined and so was her evening.
"I'll drive you home," said Purpose
So both left my house.
Upset by their leaving
Pain aimed a fist at Sadness
But missed and knocked Strength out.
Despair sitting next to them started to scream.
Gloomy couldn't stand the noise she made
And stuffed her mouth with cake
Then Despair dumped her dessert on his head.
Chaos joined their food fight
And soon everyone did the same.
Food, china, and furniture flew across the room;
Madness began to dance wildly
'Round and 'round the dinner table.
"Out, out! Out of my house!" I yelled
And then it became quiet.
